Sea Shepherd in the Galapagos

Since 2000, Sea Shepherd has maintained a strong, positive presence in the Galapagos Islands. From patroling the Marine Reserve stopping illegal fishing activities, to busting shark finners, to educating the local youth, Sea Shepherd carries out its mission of promoting ocean conservation using a wide range of methods and actions. The Galapagos is our line in the sand. If humanity cannot protect such a unique and diverse ecosystem, we will not be able to protect any ecosystem. The Galapagos is a challenge and battlefield for the effort to halt human greed and destruction. These Enchanted Isles are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and this means all of us have a responsibility to help protect them from illegal exploitation.

About Ocean Sentry

Copyright ©2009 Ocean Sentry

Ocean Sentry is a non-profit organisation, registered in Spain, that works as a wide awareness program, dialogue and respect for marine environment and those who inhabit it.

Ocean Sentry was founded by passionate individuals that got tired of seeing how our oceans are being depleted, overexploited, and plundered for tradition, entertainment, or simply because human greed.

Ocean Sentry believes that it is now mankind's responsibility to defend and preserve all marine ecosystems to repair the damage of hundreds of years of negligence and mis-management. Enforcement of regulations, laws, international conservation treaties and the effective protection of marine reserves and internationally recognised sanctuaries established to protect marine wildlife around the world is our mission.

International and regional laws and agreements are regularly and mercilessly broken by illegal poachers and by those who support them all for selfish economics interests. We need to enforce and strengthen these laws in order to preserve our oceans for the future.

Ocean Sentry is appealing for your collaboration! We want people from all around the world that are determined in their belief that marine wildlife and habitats need our immediate protection. Where necessary Ocean Sentry advocates non-violent direct action to enforce international laws, beyond demagogy, banners, photographs and protests to prevent the rampant destruction of fragile marine ecosystems.

Sharks, whales, dolphins, turtles, fish, corals and many other species need to be urgently protected. They need your help because this planet and all its inhabitants need healthy oceans to survive. Don’t leave them defenseless! Get involved!

Your donations to Ocean Sentry (a non-profit NGO) will always go to saving the oceans by supporting our campaigns and actions.

Many of the greatest revolutions in history have been made by individual people like you!

By Conserving and Defending the Oceans - We are Saving Ourselves!
