(From rnzi.com) The American Samoa Department of Marine and Wildlife Resources says it has collected 3 dead turtles in the Territory in the space of a week.
An autopsy revealed the first turtle found there last week had a lot of plastics in its large intestine including grocery bags and what appeared to be part of used nappy.
Meanwhile, a young hawksbill turtle found dead near the village of Aua last month appeared to have been poisoned by garbage.
Samoa News reports the latest turtle was found dead at Utulei Beach over the weekend.
Its the second turtle found at Utulei.
