(From abc.net.au)- Two dolphins that have been trapped in a lake on the New South Wales north coast for two weeks have finally been captured. Staff from Sea World on the Gold Coast arrived at Prospect Lake at Ballina this morning for another rescue attempt, accompanied by the National Parks and Wildlife Service and volunteers from Australian Seabird Rescues.
A large crowd gathered to watch as they managed to capture both of the dehydrated bottlenose dolphins. They were put onto a trailer and taken to the Richmond River, where they will be released. It is believed the animals entered the lake about two weeks ago via a narrow creek, but have not been able to find their way back out.
