(From stuff.co.nz) New Zealand- A little dolphin who became stranded at Castor Bay a few weekends ago was later found dead at Little Shoal Bay. The mammal was saved by the Conservation Department, police and residents who spent three-and-a-half hours with it. At the time the young adult was in a healthy condition and had no significant injuries.A few days later it washed up again.
“It’s one of those very unfortunate things,” Mr McLeod says. “But it’s not entirely surprising, because common dolphins don’t always have a high success rate after being released.”
