In order to spread an environmental message, Saatchi & Saatchi South Africa has created a nice ambient marketing campaign. The agency stuck stickers on the inside of a shark tank at an aquarium. The visitors could only see the back of the stickers, making it seem as if the warning on them was for the sharks.
The operation was created for Save Our Seas, its goal being to remind us that human actions (mostly the practice of shark finning) contribute greatly the gradual disappearance of this species.
This advertisement plays on the irrational fears that many people have of sharks. On average, only 4 people a year are attacked by sharks, which pales in comparison to the 100 million sharks that are killed by humans each year…. Save Our Seas has managed to spread this message in an original and ironic way.
