Bottlenose dolphins wash up in Hampton Roads

(From wavy.com) Virginia Beach,Virginia – The first one was discovered Thursday at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth. A second dolphin was found Friday near the Ocean View Fishing Pier in Norfolk. Joan Barns with the Virginia Aquarium says both dolphins will be necropsied. Barns says this is the season for strandings; that it is unfortunate but typical this time of year. The Stranding Response Team has picked up 95 marine mammals this year, along the coastline of Virginia.
