Miles de peces se juntan durante el cortejo y la reproducción. Por la tarde, estos peces forman una enorme agregación de desove alrededor de los arrecifes del Parque Nacional. El buzo que aparece en la imagen en David Castro, un divemaster local de Cabo Pulmo. Esta reserva marina prohibida a la pesca ha permitido la recuperación de muchas especies y la abundancia histórica de peces depredadores tales como el atún patudo.

Scientists use hydroacoustics to find abundance of marine life in reserve is 4 times greater than in surrounding waters

They found that the abundance of fishes was four times greater in Mexico’s protected Cabo Pulmo National Park than in areas outside the park. Study authors said that hydroacoustics points the way toward a new, more cost-effective method of assessing fish populations.
