Researchers identify movement patterns of a parrotfish that rotationally harvests its favorite algae

A new study by UC Santa Barbara marine biologists shows for the first time that these large algae-eaters rotationally harvest their favorite food and then defend their feeding territory while the food patches recuperate sufficiently for the fleshy turf algae to return.
