(From itn.co.uk)- An unprecedented number of sea turtles are stranding on the UK coast, an aquarium has warned after another one of the animals was rescued from a beach in Wales. The rare loggerhead turtle was found at Ogmore by Sea, near Bridgend, and taken to the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay, Cornwall. No one is sure why numbers appear to be on the increase; possible factors are sustained westerly currents which are pushing the turtles, and their favourite food jellyfish, further and further north from their usual hunting grounds in the mid Atlantic.”
