(From smh.com.au) – One of Bali”s most famous surfing spots, Padang Padang, is more challenging than ever after a 150-foot fishing boat shipwrecked in the line-up.
It is believed the boat had been illegally fishing in Indonesian waters when it struck the reef about 5am on Saturday.
The Taipai Times has reported that it was caught with 60,000 kilograms of shark fins in Costa Rica in 2003.
The crew fled and, according to SurfingMagazine.com, locals boarded the ship and helped themselves to some 500 illegally caught fish on board, including huge tuna, barracuda and shark.
He said it is now leaking and it is still not known how they will remove the boat.
