Loggerhead turtle saved from certain death

(From timesofmalta.com)- The crew of a sailing boat and officials from the Malta Maritime Authority, the AFM and BICREF (the Biological Conservation Research Foundation) got together yesterday to rescue this large loggerhead turtle after it was found hooked on a fishing long-line and facing death. A group of nine turtles similarly rescued from certain death after swallowing plastic bags or fishing hooks was released back to the sea earlier this month in an activity attended by a large group of appreciative school children. More turtles are to be released shortly.
