Florida Manatee Release

(From newsday.co.tt)- On Friday July 18, two members of the Manatee Conservation Trust, of Nariva, Trinidad, currently on an internship at the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida, got the opportunity to participate in a once in a lifetime experience of releasing a manatee back into the wild at Safety Harbor, Philippe Park, Tampa, Florida.Snitch, the manatee, was rescued at Tampa Bay in Florida in 2007 at the age of two when he was found entangled in a crab trap. He was taken to the Manatee Hospital, which is very busy during the summer, as many manatees experience crab trap entanglement and boating injuries.
