(From abc.net.au) Eurobodalla- The Australian Seabird Rescue Organisation is investigating reports that pelicans are being deliberately snared with nylon fishing line and hooks. The organisation”s regional coordinator, Julie Clarke, says there is growing concern over the number and frequency of the attacks. “Local children who have been throwing rocks and trying to actually catch the pelicans with hooks and so forth. It is a big concern that out of four birds, three were injured.”
