Animal Rights Charity Highlights Holidays With a Price

(From religiousintelligence.co.uk) – The most dismal destinations for holidaying animal lovers have been listed by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The main English cruelty is the tradition of donkey rides, which often involves overworked animals.

The Spanish bullfights and Pamplona’s tourist-driven Running of the Bulls sees 40,000 bulls killed across Spain each year […] and Malta’s Mediterraneo Marine Park, which captures bottlenose dolphins from the open seas, confines them to tanks the size of a bath tub and forces them to perform daft tricks for food.

A spokesperson for PETA said: “Summer holidays should be fun for everyone, but animals used in cheap entertainment never get a break.”
