70,000 fish wash ashore in Cypress Lake

(From wnct.com) Florida – More than 70,000 fish killed in Cypress Lake from lack of oxygen. Officials say it happened from a combination of things including rain, higher water levels, and a fair amount of algae. The state measured the lake on Monday and found less than one milligram of oxygen per liter. Cypress Lake is in the Cypress Shores community.

The lake connects to Wilson Creek, which runs into the Trent River. The fish kill was reported on Sunday.
