(From abclocal.go.com) Brigantine, NJ- A third dolphin has been found dead in the Shrewsbury River near the Route 36 bridge between Sea Bright and Highlands. The mammal is believed part of a group of wayward dolphins at the center of a tug-of-war between animal rescuers and federal wildlife officials over whether the dolphins should be removed.
Marine Mammal Stranding Center workers are trying to remove the remains so a veterinary center in Pennsylvania can try to determine the cause of death.
Since early June, about 15 dolphins have been staying in the river.
