Six Indonesian fishermen apprehended

(From torresnews.com.au)- Six Indonesian crew members aboard an Indonesian shark boat have been flown to Darwin after being apprehended in the Torres Strait. The boat was spotted by a Customs Coastwatch helicopter while conducting surveillance on Monday, September 22. The vessel was boarded about 115km east of Thursday Island on Monday afternoon where Customs officers found around 80kg of fresh shark-fin on board.

The Border Protection Command co-ordinated on-going surveillance by a Coastwatch Dash 8 aircraft and interception of the Indonesian boat by the Australian Customs Vessel Holdfast Bay.
