Shark tourney sails into tempest

(From capecodonline.com)- A national animal rights group has taken a bite out of the annual Oak Bluffs Monster Shark Tournament scheduled to begin today, but organizer Steven James said attacks on the event lack teeth.In May, the tournament lost its spot at Sunset Park and was denied a liquor license after selectmen banned the use of town land for any shark tournament.

The tournament wastes fuel and targets animals for killing that ought to be protected, DiOrio said. “We need to rethink what we want Oak Bluffs to be known for.”
