Several migratory birds found dead at Sakkarakottai tank PDF Print E-mail

Via WikipediaSeveral migratory birds, including endangered flamingoes, were found dead at Sakkarakottai tank near here.

On information, officials of Gulf of Mannar Marine National Park (GMMNP) visited the sprawling tank on Saturday and recovered at least 10 birds. Flamingoes, eagle, white ibis and egrets were among the dead birds.  These were taken to the GMMNP office for further inspection.

Animal husbandry doctors also inspected the birds to ascertain the cause of death.... Read Full Article
