Sea Shepherd has just completed the successful Operation Blue Rage in Mediterranean where 800 critically endangered bluefin tuna towed by illegal fishermen were freed after cutting the illegal nets. Most of the bluefin tuna trapped in the cages was immature fish and was caught after fishing tuna season! The action of Sea Shepherd crew has given a breath of life to our strongly plundered Mediterranean Sea. Now we have the chance to visit the ship that made this possible and be part of the onshore volunteer team as well as make a donation to support the effort for the conservation of all marine wildlife!
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is preparing its upcoming campaign to protect the Whale Sanctuary from the illegal Japanese whaling fleet. The Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary was established in 1994 and therefore hunting whales in the Sanctuary whatever the reason is a blatant illegal operation. This will be the Sea Shepherd's sixth Antarctica campaign to protect and defend the most amazing, socially complex, and endangered living beings in one of the last pristine places left on Earth.
