Harbor Seals Found Inhabiting Gyeongpo Coastal Area

(From english.kbs.co.kr)- Measures are being sought to protect endangered harbor seals, Korea”s natural treasure 331, that inhabit the coastal area near Gyeongpo Beach in Gangneung, Gangwon Province. Experts are calling for measures to protect the harbor seals, which are vulnerable to fishing nets around the area. Harbor seals live in warm coastal areas. They feed on squid and clams and reach a weight of around 90 kilograms.
