(From iht.com) San Juan, Puerto Rico – Authorities in the U.S. Virgin Islands are urging residents to keep a leash on their dogs after another sea turtle was mauled again this month. Veterinarian Michelle Mehalick says she operated on a hawksbill sea turtle after a dog bit into its neck. She said the turtle might be induced into laying its eggs that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will then incubate. She said another hawksbill turtle was brought in earlier this month after dogs chewed its flippers to the bone.
